Woops! Looks like I have forgotten about the blog’s 2nd anniversary. The 1st anniversary was posted on 14th of June 2007, but I suppose the date is not correct since the first post on this blog was dated 29th of June. The previous anniversary was celebrated earlier due to the host changing conflict in the past which lost some earlier posts.

To make things easier, the anniversary date will be the date of the first post of this blog now, which is 29th of June. Feed subscribers has grown from last year’s 100+ to today’s 600+, while the total unique visitors increases from 200,000+ to almost 1.3 million. That’s a big jump and something worth mentioning.

Wishing to see more growth in the following year. Happy belated birthday

This is my new workstation which I have finish setting two days back. Nothing fancy, just a middle-end laptop (Inspiron 1720)with an old mouse and a cheap headset. Bear with the kiddy curtain behind, that was a choice of mine 10+ years back. In fact the table and chair are probably around 10 years old too, but is still working fine though.

It was fast. There are already 1,000 posts on Vincent Chow dot Net for almost two years of posting. I wish to thank everyone, be it a new visitor or a loyal reader. Please bear with the lack of posts, the posting frequency should be back to normal after my exams are over next week.

Vincent Chow dot Net has finally hit the 1,000,000 visitors milestone after running for 1 year and 9 months (since 29, June 06). The unique visitors count at the time of writing this is 1,014,800.

Not just that, the RSS subscribers count has been going up and down from 400 to 500 these few days, and that’s just another great thing to celebrate. Including this post, there are only another 55 posts before we reach the 1,000 posts milestone!

I would like to say nothing more than a BIG THANKS to everyone who have supported the blog—especially to our feed subscribers who think Vincent Chow dot Net worth some space in their feed reader or email inbox.

For the past week, I have been working on my new tech blog, called Sheep Tech. I have started writing since last Sunday, but only bother to announce it now. Here’s how it looks like:

I have been thinking of starting a tech blog since months ago, and now it is finally here. So far there are 6 articles, and 6 RSS subscribers. You might want to have a look and let me know what you think. Be sure to subscribe too if you like the content.

I have actually yet to plan for any blogging goals for 2008, but since the group writing project at DBT will be ending very soon, I will do a quick one.

• Make $300 monthly blogging - Accomplished (somewhat)
• Have more than 1,000 unique visitors daily - Accomplished
• At least PageRank 5 - Failed, reduced to 0 by Google last round
• Less than 50k Alexa ranking - Failed, stucked at 60k

Sorry for slow updates lately. My internet connection is not working fine and I’m now at a friend’s house.

How easy is it to understand your blog’s content? You can check it out using the tool here. Just simply enter the URL of the blog or website you wants to check their readability, and results will be shown within seconds.

Might not be accurate for all blogs but it is still a good one to roughly get the idea. This blog’s reading level is at “High school”, I suppose everyone can understand easily. (via)

My September’s AdSense earnings payment was issued few days ago, and this is the first payout since I changed my payment method from standard check to Western Union Quick Cash. I went to CIMB bank in Malaysia a earlier today to cash out my money, and everything went smoothly. Just in case anyone wants a review of this new payment method, here’s my experience.
