Watch Star Wars The DOS Version

Starwars, The DOS Version

I know that there’s many Star Wars fans out there, while I’m not one. If you are a Star Wars fans, you should watch this – the DOS version. Follow the following steps to watch it.

  1. Click on your START MENU
  2. Click on Run…
  3. In the “Open” field, type “telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl” and hit enter

No sounds, no graphic, but just combination of moving text and symbols. It’s just simply amazing, no doubt that it took some time to complete something like this. Although it’s quite plain, but it has the story line and you will really understand it. Not a waste of time if you’re a Star Wars fans, but I didn’t finish watching it – as I don’t quite like Star Wars. Enjoy!

Hey Vincent … thanks for the linkback! :)

No problem. That’s for crediting your work. :)

I can’t believe this is still in existence! I remember running this back in oh, 1993 or so in the comp sci lab back when I was a student. Oh, dah memories, dah memories. I haven’t tested it here but I remember it being longer than I would have thought. Maybe a little too long.

I think the text appear and disappear a little too fast, too dull and like looking into a comic strips moving. Not my taste but quite cool.

Awesome!

Here’s an odd link I found upon hearing about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_eggs_in_Microsoft_products

Pretty cool, must look at these one day. :P

(I never got to finishing the Star Wars one.)

great work.. But I knew this before

seem like it doesnt work anymore in Vista.. anybody can confirm this? it doesnt work on my pc (win vista)

no Ridhaun, it doesnt work on my vista either

IT DO NOT WORKETH WITH THE VISTA!!!!

you have to enable telnet on vista. Go to start//accessories//run Type appwiz.cpl into run. It’ll open a box with a list of programs in it. aka add/remove programs. Click turn windows features on and off on the side panel on that add/remove box. When it loads, scroll and and check mark Telnet Client and click okay. It’ll take a little bit.. and then try after the box disappears
