DreamHost, the host this blog is on will be having an approximately 3 hours downtime on February 25th, at 12:01AM PST. During these hours, almost every single website hosted by DreamHost will be offline, including this one. The downtime is caused by the power outage of only one data center, but too bad – there’s where the core router is on and therefore there will be no network to any other servers.
I’m wondering if they do have any backup power or something, almost a couple hundred thousands of websites will be offline for 3 hours just because of this. You can read more at DreamHost’s status blog (via).
my site’s hosted at dreamhost too. no wonder I received several timeout from the server recently.
