I have a fear of the color green. I have no idea where I can get help for it. I can’t look at certain shades…I start panicking. Last week, I was looking for a house to rent, and the owner took me on a tour of the house. Unfortunately, one bedroom had a bright green wall in it. I tried not to run out of the house.
My other two biggest fears are being sucked into a propeller (I can’t even look at ships anymore, because I know how big those things are), and I am afraid of tall buildings, cranes, ships, and any large planes.
I have other smaller fears, but thinking of these make me want to hyperventilate.
Did I also mention that my name is Kelly, a shade of green?

I fear chalk, like alot.
Today in class my math teacher asked me to do an example on the bored, i asked him if i could do it on my paper. He said no and i didnt want to be made fun of by saying i was afraid of chalk, so i ended up going up there. It seemed like it took me an hour to get to the front of the class. My hands were sweaty and i couldn’t breath… I picked up the chalk and held it tight and as i wrote it broke in half and you could see my sweat marks on the bord and i just broke down and started freaking out.

This same thing happened to me in my spanish class once, several years ago. I didn’t freak out til after I was done, though. I managed to get up there, and suck it up and write… I nearly bit a whole through my cheek trying to keep myself from freaking. Finally it was done, and I went back to my desk… and then I started to cry. I could not get the feel of it off my hands, or out of my mind for the whole day, and eventually I was sent home. It was humiliating to be the “weird chalk girl” every single day of school after that. You’re not alone in your fear.
