World’s Smallest Country – Sealand

The Principality of Sealand
The world’s smallest so-called country, The Principality of Sealand is actually a 1,800-square-foot steel platform. The steel platform was built by the British Navy in 1941 – and Paddy Roy Bates occupied and proclaimed the platform as his country in 1967, and it’s for sale now at $977 million. Guess what? Even YouTube worth more than a country, YouTube was sold to Google, Inc at around $1.6 billion.

In June 2006, Sealand suffered a devastating fire which has crippled its infrastructure significantly [view images]. Wondering how hard it is to manage a country that might have the whole country gone when there’s fire. Although Sealand doesn’t looks any like a country, but they do have a country flag, currency, national anthem and official passport. I don’t think anyone will bother to use the passport, and I don’t think they have very high security.
