Some years ago, e-cards was a hot stuff during special occasions like Christmas, new year, birthday, etc. You might be happy to see one in your inbox, but it might now be harmful. Recently, a worm is being spread by emails, with the subject “Happy New Year!” and an attachment namely postcard.exe. Once you execute the so-called postcard, your computer might be in trouble.
It’s still not a very bad condition to have yourself infected, but the worm might use your contact list to spread the worm to your friends and family. Be very careful when handling attachments with .exe extension as it can install something you don’t need on your computer – like viruses, spywares and adwares. It is advisable to ignore any .exe email attachment, unless you really know what you are doing.
