KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) — The Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination result will be announced on Dec 28, said a statement from the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate.

The candidates can get their results from their respective schools from 10am.

Director-general of Education Datuk Dr Ahamad Sipon will announce the analysis on the candidates’ performance at a press conference the following day.

A total of 448,324 candidates sat for the examination, 93.7 per cent (420,177) of whom were from government or government-aided schools.

This was followed by 0.7 per cent (2,894) of candidates from the Mara Junior Science Colleges and the Royal Military College while 2.4 per cent (10,766) were from state religious schools.

As for private candidates, 2.6 per cent (11,774) were from private schools, 0.2 per cent (1,110) were independent candidates and 0.4 per cent (1,603) from private religious schools.
