Avatar is basically a logo that represents you on websites such as bulletin board, social networking profiles like MySpace or Friendster, and even instant messenger like Live Messenger.
Some people will use their own picture for their avatar, but some will use other graphics or images. I use South Park’s Kenny as my avatar in most websites, well - not sure why I’m using Kenny though. If you are good at Photoshop, you can make yourself an avatar in such a way that you want it to be. If you are not, you can also search for those ready made avatars on the internet.
For those of you who love something unique, but have no idea how to create a unique avatar, you can try ImageChef. ImageChef is a website to generate avatars, you can choose any made ready image and customize it by typing some special text, for example - your name. I have made some sample, take a look below.
Click on the image to enlarge. It’s quite a handy tool, but I didn’t use them as my avatar though. Maybe they are just not my style. Many of those made ready images are more girlish style, with those pinky stuff. Found ImageChef via TechBuzz. Have fun :).
