I now have my own policy..

Disclosure PolicyWhile surfing on other blogs, I stumble upon a website at DisclosurePolicy.org. It is a website funded by PayPerPost to help bloggers to generate their very own policy. Don’t get me wrong by the word “generate”. It’s not just copy and paste task, but you do answer questions before generating it so that it will compile your blog’s policies.

I have generated one, and you can take a look at it here. If you are lazy to read it, you can read the summarized version below.

Summary of my policy

  • This blog is owned, written, maintain, edited by me
  • I do advertise on this blog, in 2 forms – ads generated by third party & sponsored post
  • If I write a sponsored post, it will always be identified as paid or sponsored post(example)
  • Even when writing a sponsored post, my opinions, findings, beliefs will always be honest and my own, without being affected by the advertiser

From today (actually from the beginning), I will never take any sponsored post offer if the advertiser want me to write it in a positive way. Only neutral review or sponsored post will be accepted. So far, I have only wrote a sponsored post which requires me to write it positively.

I actually don’t know what’s the point I made this policy. This will only make me lost my freedom of writing as I need to follow the policy created – well, I mean I can’t really go over the border anymore. Maybe this will make my readers to feel more comfortable. I’m fear that my readers will felt that I write something for money – so after reading this policy, you will understand that if the post do earn me any bucks, I will let you know.

If you are a blogger, you can create your own policy. It’s free. Anyway, it’s not always good for you to have a policy. Sometimes, readers will felt that the blog is too commercialized and will eventually hate the blog.

Too cool. It seems very simple. I’ve bookmarked it :)
