Using PC without keyboard or mouse

{ December 2, 2006 }

Some parents will loot the computer’s stuff like mouse, keyboard, modem, etc if their children is too addicted to the computer. This is especially when they refuse to study even when exam is just around the corner. This guide will show you how to use the computer even without a mouse or a keyboard (you need to have either one).

Type without keyboard
This is very easy. I’m not sure if all operating system do have this feature, but as tested using WindowsXP – it works perfectly. Just follow the steps below by using a mouse.

  • Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> On-screen Keyboard

Voila, you now see a virtual keyboard on your screen. You can use the virtual keyboard to type using mouse by clicking on those keys. However, do not set any password for your Windows user. As far as I know, it is impossible to summon the virtual keyboard to type out your password to log on. Let me know if there is anyway to solve this.

Navigate without mouse
You have learn how to type using a mouse just now, and now – you will learn how to navigate using a keyboard. You will need to download a software this time. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Download Mouser and save it to anywhere you like
  2. Open Mouser on where you have save it
  3. Set the settings as how you want it to work by reffering here

It shall be working now. At first, you might find it difficult to use it, but as you use it – it will be easier. You can look at the demo below to see how this little software works.

How about if you don’t have BOTH(keyboard and mouse) of it..

Give up.

You gave an example about modem but You didn’t give the solution if we didn’t have modem. Any solution to this?

Example, my dear.
