If you ever been a customer of TMNet, the main ISP in Malaysia and the worst ISP on earth, you will know how slow their customer service is, especially for Streamyx. Make a complaint, and wait half a year until it’s solve. Few weeks ago, I too have problem with them. And luckily, it is solved in 1 week+, but I’m still not happy. They reply my email in at least 3 days, which is very slow compare to other company who can reply me in 24 hours.
I found an audio at Bloganything.net via Lowyat forum about a TMNet user, Mr.Chua – can’t stand anymore and rant at two customer service operator. Frankly speaking, I don’t think there is any use to shout and rant at the customer service operator. They are just answering phone calls, and they are not the one who provide you the internet service. To me, they are just like shield, protecting the boss who provide lousy service. Let’s listen to it, and forget it after listening. No offense to anyone, and I don’t know why this record will be spread on the internet, wondering what the hell is the customer service doing.

if they want to be operator, they have to be ready to receive complaints including the ones like mr. chua.
if the boss of tmnet is concern enough, they should listen to their customer service often.

Many of the residents in this Taman Marin, Sungai Abong, 84000 Muar, Johor and I were applying for streamyx many time since few years back but always got the same excuses from the TMnet and Streamyx officers that the telephone line in this Taman is not accommodated for streamyx. Note : other Taman that is surrounding here had already having the streamyx facility long time ago. Your prompt action are highly appreciated. Thanks!

Need action on TMNet problems.
1. Caller to my house phone have ringing tone but my house phone not ringing (problem discovered since 11th May’2007).
Question : Is action taken by TMNet and yet create more problem??
2. When on line with TMnet the line speed is the line is from 3 kbps to 44 kbps. (be fore May 2007 the line speed can up to 115.2kbps)
Question : Is action taken by TMNet to make the line speed slower??
3. While on line in the Internet my line will be disconnect when there is incoming call.
Question : Is there any action taken by TMNet?
4. It will usually took me about half an hour to few hours keep dialing again and again for the TMNet to get on line.
5. Had dial many to 100 for action to be taken and some time the TMNet personal came and told me that nothing could be done the line in this area (Taman Marin, Sungai Abong, 84000 Muar, Johor) are all like this.
6. Many residents in this Taman Marin had applied for Streemyx since years ago but we usually get the same excuses that the are that the TMNet line here, cant not accommodate to have streemyx.

Since Hari Raya this time streamyx is slowing down. After Hari Raya, I found something that is the line from Malaysia to Malaysia is 0 – 1or 2kbps download speed. But when it ping with out country it take 1024kb to 1400kbps download speed! How come…?

at my place have i modem,1 hub,3 destop,1 laptop.
from my wall socket will direct go to splitter,and i do a wiring because my computer at upstair,so from splitter will direct go to 1 small box..and from a small box go to modem and direct to hub..so im using 3 pc..so from 204 until now my connection is ok..512kb and sometimes i get 765kb…so dont have a prob about tm,,but the prob is u..asshole!!!!

You know the term Consumer Rights? Well, its our right to get the service we pay for. I don’t know about you, since you seem so laidback about poor service. Maybe you have a lot of money to burn; and time as well. However, some of us actually need to use the internet for work. It’s pretty frustrating when you are expecting an urgent email, while on the other hand you can’t even check your mail. And then when you do recieve the mail, you never seem to be able to download the 5mb attachment!
Just a minor example, of course. I’m sure others can come up with plenty more.

I was jubilant as I could get online with my Sony PS3 for the 1st time! I’ve heard so many accounts about playing online games. I then surf the website looking for clues and such. I came across a forum about this dude from Iowa, who’s bit*hing that the game (I intend to play this game online) lags. As I read further, I found out he’s using 20Mbps and he plans to upgrade to 40Mbps because of the lag. Still in shock… I decided to dump my idea about playing online games. For goodness sake, we are still stuck with 1-2Mbps and it’s not that we can utilize the 1,2 or 4Mbps BB to its full capacity that we subscribed. I would suggest forget about complaining… we are pretty much bogged down with a 3rd world country infrastructure! 2020? I don’t think so…

Speed of download is not match with agreement (512kb for combo 2) that in average my speed is 20 kb, so I decided cancel my agreement.

More information agency gave me when we wrote agreement, are not much with this streamyx rules:
–He said: maximum after 2 weeks install internet, but installed after 3 months.
–He said: just pay RM75+88 for activation and installation , but I paid this price for 2 time ( one time for line phone and another time for internet).
–He said: Line phone is one way and other people just can call you, but now I just can call other and other people can not call me. (now TMpoint say have to pay 1000 RM for 2 way- international people ).
–He said: Speed of download is 512Kbps, but the most of time we can download less than 20kbps.
–He said: If you want cancel agreement before one year, just have to pay bill of phone ( maximum less than 25 RM per month for remaining months), but TMpoint say for terminate I have to pay all Bill for remaining months (88RM per month).
Do you think can I take report speed of internet and with agreement complain to government?

Ladies and gents. We can scream all we like and shout all we like but the core problem is, BAD PRODUCT. The lack of viable competition is the root of this issue.
If choices are present, each company involved will strive to bring out the best to woo customers. Knowing your customer rights means you have a right to choose. A right to get what you paid for. Did you all know when you signed up for streamyx, it never was a promise that you get a full 1MB or whatever? They don’t even have to entertain you let along let you shout at them.
Exercise your rights as a customer and choose. You can opt for maxis or celcom and even redtone Wimax. But as long as you don’t choose to change, the providers don’t see a point to upgrade themselves.
Mr Chua has every right to be angry. He was given bad advice. The technician that went to his house in the first place never did actually do a proper check. What if the fellow that went was not a computer technician but rather a Doctor on house call? Someone could have died. Although not as severe, the implications are similar.
He was right up till that. Shouting and cursing just goes to show a certain amount of inbreeding in his part. When people eat sh!t, don’t rightly mean we have to follow. Shouting and cursing will get no one no where fast. Politely state your issue, demand a follow up and choose alternatives if they fail your expectations. Freedom of choice mah. Use it.

next time… just reply YES or I DID after every questions… pause a moment if you need to… make them beliive that you’re doing something… the objective is whether you want them to come over to have a look or simply want them to do something at their end…
if they come and say your devices got problem… ask them to check again with thier own equipments… argue with them if they don’t carry out this simple problem ractifying routine… by the way it’s the only chance you come face to face with the representative of the service provider… shout at him if you dare… don’t simply change your equipment… hehehe

Don’t you know, any meeting within Customer Service Dept didn’t involved the CSO (Customer Service Officer)
You or some people might think that most of the customer service officer is uneducated people but you might be suprised if you found out that lots of a degrees graduate now days working as a customer service.
Listen to the conversation, I cannot stop to smile. I did found such lots of customer who did this. Eventhough I’m not from Streamyx but yet, this is what had happen to most of em who are working in this kind of environment.
I have streamyx rm99 combo for heavy P2P downloading using port forwarding and stuff. No complaint so far. The only time i have problem with streamyx is when my bill is overdue for 3 month! hehe.. besides, I do have P1 wifi also (which there’s no coverage in my housing area and it’s not as good as they advertise) and to compare P1 and streamyx, I give Streamyx a two thumbs up!
For those who thinks that it takes forever to download a 2 mb file, try using flashget or download manager software or google yourself for freewares that’ll help you with it. And if you still using the dinosaur age PC with win98,winME or win2K, please stop your complaint about the internet line.
For others, if have problem with internet line, google it first. There’s so much information and solutions already available just one click away, plus tips and tricks to boost your speed.

Understand how networks works to make you feel better. I supporting a large network, the speed is up to 10Tbps, sometimes shit do happen, there is not only 1 service provider involve, but a lot. Once they facing slowness, they will check their own network and log a priority ticket to other provider and its always depend on the contract, if the contract is priority 1, they will try to fix it as fast as they can, but if the contract is priority 4, well "best afford" and there goes our connection. If single user ticket, normally they will treat it as "normal incident" priority 3,4 (which is BEST afford, as long as not all connection are down. Once a bunch of "asshole"(if u excuse me) more than 100 users, start complaining, they will try to do something about it. In order to get yourself to priority 1,2, you must be dato, tan sri, YAB, etc…. else… sit there and wait… thanks…

my son applied for the Uni pack from tm net… it was approved and so we paid for the wiring the telephone…then the man came with a modem… after set on it he told us that it is not moving and he had to go back to the office to ask them to connect the JUmpers.. etc.. a few days later the man came back to say he want to take back the modem he left and the office told him we are in a problem area… what should i do so they do the work and send my son whatever needed…
