ReviewME

ReviewMe is a quite new paid to post website, and I have just signed up for it few minutes ago. I’m still not sure how it works, and this is the first review assigned to me. As I’ve said, it is not detailed enough for how things is actually to be reviewed, the service or the website? As a result, I would review it as a whole.

The first thing I do just now on ReviewME website is to check their FAQ page. I’m in doubt if I’m paid using PayPal or cheque, since my PayPal account is no verified. But there is no clue at all in that page, so I send them an email. While waiting, I decide to sign up – and there, there is an option to choose my payment method. I think it should be included in the FAQ page to avoid such case anymore.

I have an account too at PayPerPost, but I didn’t use it because it’s too hard for me. But unlike ReviewME, it is a real review. I can write anything about the website or product, and not just lame praise. I love this idea, but at the same time, I’m worrying if advertisers will be annoyed by this. Seriously, who wants to pay when someone might write something bad about you? It’s just like paying someone to defame yourself.

As I said just now, the website is not well functioning. It should let us have more details about the product or website for us to be reviewed. Description of it is more than enough. But it might be just me who can’t see it. For Advertiser, I think that the FAQ page is not well setup for them. There is just one FAQ for advertiser, which is “Can I require a positive review?” – and obviously, NO =p

It’s a very good way of earning for popular and unpopular blogs. This blog, which I consider as not successful yet – worth $60. It’s hell a lot to me. Can’t imagine how much will it cost for blogs like Problogger.net.

For the website, it’s quite simple – yet easy to navigate. Things are cute there, especially the “World’s Biggest RSS Button”. (Psst, there is actually bigger one at JohnChow.com). I like their logo too, looks cute. Their slogan looks quite normal, looks alike with the one with Text-Link-Ads.

Overall, they have many rooms more to improve. Make a better FAQ page, this is very important to attract new members. A better system or control panel for blogger, so that we will know what exactly we should review about. And for its user to interact with each other and share ideas – a community forum is good too. Alright, that’s all I can review for ReviewMe. Guess this is the longest entry I ever write on this blog, hehe.

Oops.. forgotten to provide ReviewMe’s URL – It is ReviewME.com !

- Update -

I’ve been navigating around on ReviewMe website just now, and found that it actually estimate how many RSS reader we have and use it to be a part of blog worth determination. I’m not sure how it works, and I have no star at all for it. It’s kinda unfair :(
I’m sure technology blog will have more RSS readers.

The blog worth is also determined by the Alexa ranking and I’m not quite happy with this. What if the blogger uses blogspot.com? It is ranked at 19! In my opinion, just forget about the Alexa and get the PageRank in. Alexa ranking is just another unfair thing. Or else, come out with a new ranking system and require all ReviewME blogger to install it. This will be better than Alexa Ranking to determine one’s blog traffic. Agree huh?

I agree with you that alexa is not good. All the subdomain user get a great benefit from it…

I’m registered there as well. What are your throughts on Blogitive at http://www.blogitive.com ? I’ve be interested in hearing what you think of it. They’re really ramping up now and putting the call our for bloggers. If you’re not registered, use me as a referral – colleen_cc@yahoo.com

I wish I can use Blogitive too, but too bad, my PayPal account is not functioning well. I don’t own any credit/debit card. I prefer cheques for that reason. By the way, may I know who refer you here? It’s always cool to see new visitors. :D
