Blog Action Day: Solving Poverty

{ October 15, 2008 }

Blog Action Day 2008

The theme for 2008′s Blog Action Day is poverty, in which Wikipedia describe as:

Deprivation of common necessities that determine the quality of life, including food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, and may also include the deprivation of opportunities to learn, to obtain better employment to escape poverty, and/or to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens

Poverty is not all just about starving. People suffering from poverty, will continue suffering, for they have no chance to escape from it unless we do something to help.

Give a man a fish, you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish, and you have fed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to sell fish and he eats steak. People suffering from poverty does not have any fish, nor knows how to fish.

We will do the donating and word spreading, and the charity organization will do the fishing lessons.

What can you do?

What can your tiny effort do? Nothing. But together, it will make poverty history. You will want to be part of this, I believe.
