19P1 has successfully being the first licensee in Malaysia to officially launch the much awaited WiMAX this afternoon. I was invited to the launch event, but too bad I cannot attend due to transportation problem. A friend sent me some pictures of the launch and that really makes me feel bad for not attending and checking the grand launch out.
Some of the pictures. took by Danny.

The prices are out too, which seems reasonable after all (except the modem price, RM999. Free if you subscribe it by the end of the month)
I will see if anyone will be sending me videos of the launch, and will update this post if there is any. The coverage map link is leading me to a 404 page, and therefore I cannot check if my area is covered by the WiMAX towers.
Congratulations P1 for being the first to roll out the WiMAX service.

I’ve tried the Coverage Map. Not really working. So I used the one on their official Wimax website. Yeah, there’s the P1 and w1max website. Also, if you’re using the map you can only view on Internet Explorer because it needs to install some MSXML control.

Kind of unprofessional for an ISP to can’t even make its website work across all browsers.
