How Will WiMAX Improve Life?

Everything is cordless these daysHow do you think WiMAX will change internet user’s lifestyle? Really, I cannot tell as I cannot imagine how WiMAX will looks like. Even though 3G broadband has been around for quite some time, I still don’t see people carrying their laptops to ordinary coffee house or restaurant. Instead, around half of the total tables of coffee shops that offers free wifi are occupied by laptops and power adapters.

By far, 3G broadband is receiving quite a number of bad feedbacks for its instability and limited coverage (in fact in my house itself, my phone sometimes detects 3G and sometimes doesn’t). WiMAX will make no different despite the high cost of setting up the infrastructures and towers if it will be having the same quality. Malaysians have enough experience of bad internet connections and most probably they will try their best to dig as much feedbacks as they can before subscribing to a new broadband, to prevent ending up in hell again.

Being optimistic, WiMAX might change how Malaysians experience the internet. I seriously have enough of pausing and waiting game when watching a YouTube video. Once in a while I will have a smooth video streaming which have no delay for buffering, and I definitely love how it feels.

WiMAX with good speed is what matters now. At least it will help people who cannot leave the internet for long (I’m not), these people will at least have some outing with friends (and laptops).

P/s: There will be one WiMAX post weekly for this “soon-to-be-launched” period in order to support the nation’s aim to improve the country’s broadband penetration rate.
