It has been more than 10 days since my old phone was replaced by the Samsung i450. Here’s what I think about the phone after 10 days usage:
The Good:
- The buttons are big and nice to press on. It will make you send meaningless messages just for the sake of typing with the keypad. Good for fat fingers.
- Cool audio quality. The speaker is so loud that I decided it will be with me for bathing time. Now I bath with music on. It just get better and better with the earphone on. Music lovers will love the phone definitely.
- When it says it is powered by S60, it means you can grab free softwares from the internet and make them yours by installing in the phone. So far I have Calcium, Dictionary, Opera Mini and Google Map. Tried installing Gmail Mobile but no avail, it returns 404 error when I tried to download it through the air.
- Fun semi-circle music control wheel. Basically it is there just for the fun of it, I would just the buttons if I want something real quick and accurate. Still cool anyway
- Voice Signal is definitely useful. If you are driving and wants to call someone, just pressing one key and start saying the command like “Call Vincent”. Not something new though.
The Bad:
- There are lots of fingerprints on the screen. Although it won’t affect any when the backlight is on, but it still doesn’t looks good
- No clock when the phone is in standby mode. I will need to press on any key to activate the backlight in order to know the time.
- Average quality camera. Pictures took using the i450 seems to have much noise and not focused
- No wifi. Tell you what, I will make sure my next phone purchase wouldn’t be something without wifi. It’s something necessary especially to people who do everything on the internet.
I think I’m quite used to it already. The only thing my old phone is better than this is it’s camera. Other than that the i450 is doing all fine. Sorry for not having real pictures of the phone, as I don’t have any camera. That is the reason why I prefer a phone with good camera quality.
Stay tune as I will upload a video taken using the i450 by this week.
