Skype, in case you have not heard of it before, is one of the best VoIP system ever exist. It offers good quality of internet voice calling, as well as video calling. It is logic that people like good stuff, and it makes sense to have almost 8 millions of users signed into Skype while I am writing this.
PrimeSkype, on the other hand, is a social networking website targeting Skype users. Users can post their profiles there to meet new friends or to look for someone to chat with. There are three directories for you to browse around, namely Skype Prime, Skype Users and Skype Chats.
Skype Prime is a feature that allows Skype users to charge another user for calling them. This means that they can sell their professional consulting service via Skype. For example, Fred is an expert in php codes. James, who is still learning, got stuck while writing a script and needs help urgently. James will then give a call to Fred on Skype asking for help, and Fred will charge James for the call — either in minutes or a per call.
At PrimeSkype, you can list your profile in the Skype Prime directory to advertise your services. In that way, your potential customer can look for you easier. The Skype Users directory consists of PrimeSkype user profiles. Just like other social networking websites, you can use it to look for new friends to chat with. The only difference is you can make a Skype call to a user within a click at PrimeSkype. You can opt not to show your Skype status if you are not comfortable with it.
The third directory, Skype chats directory, is used to list out public chats. I assume that those are existing chats that you can join in. For the time being, PrimeSkype is not having enough members to make the website a real great place. It could be much fun if there are more members, so give it a shot if you are already a Skype user.
