Don’t you think it is stupid as a fish to eat another fish that is four times longer in length than you? It is hard to make sense when a small fish have the ability to eat a bigger fish, how big it has to open its mouth? And for the bigger fish, how will it get eaten by a small fish? 1st of all, this is a very smart evolution. It’s stomach is designed to swallow prey that’s few times larger than itself. It’ll swim around to attract predator, once the predator attacks, it’ll counter-attack and turn the predator into a prey. That means, the Great Swallower don’t have to go around looking for food, the food will come to him!!
2nd, Since this species is only found in deep water, that means they can’t see. They won’t know if the prey is too large for them until their stomach couldn’t take it anymore.

You should have checked the story before you decided to declare your disbelief. It’s for nothing that this fish is called Great Swallower. Only this little fellow happened to fatally swallowed more than it can chew. Bottomline is : this is a true story of a true fish.
