How It Looks Like To Be Dugg

Dugg

Being Dugg might not be every blogger’s wish. It might kill one’s blog easily with the massive traffic, provided it is using a very basic hosting plan or is not ready for it at all. But what I would like to say is, although traffics from Digg doesn’t make you much money, but it’s fun, too see your traffic shoot up and receive lots of incoming links.

Have a look at the stats:

DreamHost handle the wave somewhat well, just with very short downtime rather than being dead without notice. I however received an email from them letting me know they are banning three IPs from making connections to my blog, saying that they are making too much of them and will eventually kill the server. Might be someone hotlinking my images they say.

Then later, the blog went down with 500 Internal Server Error. It was due to the mistake DreamHost’s staff made, caused by a missing space when they edit my .htaccess. Takes me sometime to figure it out, but it’s alright I thought, people make mistakes.

Earnings went up too. Made a new record on that day itself, marking at around twice of my previous highest earning day record. The wordless post is not just being Dugg, but also Stumbled Upon, and Reddit-ed and went up to the front page of a Digg-liked site too, but in another language - meneame.

Now one of my blogging mission is accomplished. Thanks all for the support.
