Indian Motorola Commercial Blog Day 2007 on 31 August
Aug 11

It was found out by a 13 years old boy. While covering news on the flag planting under the north pole by Russia, Reuters, a world recognized news agency, used a picture from “Titanic” the movie as part of the news report. You can read more about it at Guardian. Weirdly, the photo is still on Reuters site, check out the image on this news, the second picture.

I am not sure if they do this on purpose or it is a mistake, but I believe Reuters would not want to ruin their reputation for the sake of making news more interesting. Such phenomenon is however common in the blogosphere. Blogs usually have relevant pictures to news they are reporting by searching for them via Google Image Search. That’s understandable as it is dull to read news on blogs without pictures.
