Looking for rooms or houses to rent in the United States, Canada or United Kingdom? To house owners, looking to rent your rooms or houses in these countries? It can’t be easier to do this by using roomster.net for these purposes. There is no need anymore to look for an agent or spread words among your friends.

Roomster

Roomster acts like an online agent to bring renters and house owners together. Owners get to list their rooms and houses and renters will be able to browse the list looking for room or apartment to rent. You can also search for roommates using Roomster, sharing rooms and cutting part of the rental cost.

Besides, Roomster do offer good communication features that allow roommates, renters or owners to contact each other in an easy way. For instant, an instant messenger makes it easy for quick discussion. Other features Roomster offers includes Apts-to-Share, Show Interest, Hot lists and Flagging Profiles (to fight scam).

The number of listings will proof that how easy Roomster make things to be. Just today, there are already 851,664 available listings on Roomster. As a foreigner visiting United States, Canada or United Kingdom soon, it is much easier to search for a place to stay using such online service. Unless you have friends or relatives there, it wouldn’t be easy at all to search for rooms before you reaching there.

There is however still negative comments on Roomster. Upon searching for comments on Roomster on other blogs, some said you will need to pay to view and reply a message by other members. That post was last year’s somewhere around August, and I am not sure how it looks like now. If Roomster is still charging before allowing members to communicate with each other, people must have love services provided by Roomster very much. There are so many members on Roomster despite the fees being charged.

So, looking for rooms? Give Roomster a try!

There are thousands of logged complaints concerning the site Roomster.net/ roomster.com People sign up for a one month trial for less than 7 USD and then end up getting automatically recharged every month at the rate of 29 USD month. They call (no one answers), they email (no one answers) and they cannot contact anyone to cancel the repeat direct debit withdrawals from their credit card or bank account. The site needs to immediately become more transparent about its charging/ billing and more accessible for subscription cancellations if it is to become legitimate.

I have used Roomster.net/Roomster.com to search for possible roommates and available rental units. I agree with the above poster’s comment. I had subscribed for only 3 days at $5.95, and have since been inadvertently charged $29.95 per month from my debit card without even using the Web site’s services for those months of which I was charged. The Web site obscurely states only in its Terms of Use that, “All subscriptions are automatically renewed to ensure uninterrupted access to your subscription.” There was no transparent indication upon initially signing Full Membership ($5.95 for 3 days) that charges will continue after 3 days or that debit/credit cards will be automatically charged. The Web site does not state upon initial signing of Full Membership that the individual is responsible to terminate the membership. Moreover, there is no notification (via e-mail, Web site alert notification, etc.) that a $29.95 charge has been made at the end of each month. The only way of knowing a charge was issued is discovering it on one’s bank statement or self-navigating through the Web site’s system.

I have tried calling Roomster.net/Roomster.com’s office, and was only greeted with a voice mail system. The office has not returned calls. I now must formally issue a dispute through my bank, a claim will be made against Roomster.net/Roomster.com, and my debit card will be terminated so that no future charges are made on my account.

I was looking for a place to stay in London during my holiday and while I was surfing the net I came across this website called roomster.com they offered free membership so I signed up and as my profile could now appear on their website to potential people letting rooms, after few days I received many e-mails from other members, but in order to read them I had to get full membership. They offered a few membership options and I chose the 3 days option at the price of £4.97. After a couple of months I was checking my credit card statement and I realised that roomster.com was still withdrawing money from my account at full month membership fee of £18.91. I did some research and I found out that in their Terms and Condition they actually say (in a very vague way) that if you don’t cancel your membership they will continue charging at a monthly rate. However, when you are signing up for a membership they don’t specify there and then that you should close your account to avoid being charged for ever. They are apparently based in New York and they were previously operating under the name of roomster.net.

i signed up for the 3 day trial and paid about 6 us dollars. I didn’t use the site after the trial period and was never notified that they continued to bill my credit card. The charges escaped me for a few months-I then realized that they were charging me 29.95 per month. This is a very deceptive site and needs to be made to clearly indcate by e-mail when they intend to begin charging a membership fee after the inital trial purchase. If I had been made aware of this I would have immediately canceled the account! I signed up for ONLY the initial trial and no more! crooks!

The owner of roomster is Roman Zaks [rzaks@roomster.net], please feel free to send e-mails to this scumbag of thier unethical business. He can also be found on facebook. He plans on starting a search engine called Slangwho.com. Everyone who reads this do not use slangwho.com
