iPhone has just been launched for days and here’s the user feedback.
No MMS. This is really crazy, even an old Nokia model supports MMS - but not for the iPhone that claims to be a revolutionary phone. The only way to send pictures is via email, so no pictures for your friends who doesn’t use emails.
There’s no way to cut, copy, or paste text! Even my Sony Ericsson k800i can do this. It is just a phone that focus on its camera, but iPhone is more into smart phones. Think again.
Music can’t be used as a ringtone — even if it’s just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch. Honestly speaking, we can use mp3 files as ringtones on almost all phones. But not for the newly launched iPhone? Crap.
The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device’s capacity. It means when you get a 4GB, there is actually only 3GB and when you get a 8GB, there is only 7GB. Good enough for me though.
No video recording, not even a low quality one. You can only take pictures with the 2 megapixel camera, but not video recording. No wonder they can’t make it a 3G phone, they don’t even support video recording for the primary camera.
Apple sez between 300-400 charges the iPhone will lose battery capacity — you’ll send it in and get the cell replaced for a fee. Oh well, speechless this time.
No, not only these. The listed ones are those which really bothers me. For a full list, head over engadget. Until Apple do something to improve the phone, it sucks big time. iPhone has a lot of great features but they have left out those basics one. Disappointment.

wow i never know i doesnt support mms. wtf?
well, i agree. iPhone kinda sucks. 2MP camera, no 3G. hey they are not following the cellphone market. at least for the last 2 years. no 3rd party apps?hell.
but credit for them. you should look at the iPhone finger tips; the tour on apple site. especially about the keyboard. they ARE inventing something new in it.

Ever since the iPhone was announced, I always it was going to be style over substance, like so many “fashionable” items end up being - they’ll no doubt sell millions of them, but they sure won’t be anywhere near what you’d call power users.
I’ve loved my Windows Mobile-based smartphones of the last 2.5yrs and it’s the flexibility and functionality that for me is what makes them great.
Now that the iPhone has been released - I’m amazed that you can sell some of those specs in todays marketplace - just goes to show the power of branding and fashion in my opinion!

yea..most people would usually will fall to the evil marketing gimmick.. apple: style kind of concept.though in the eyes of the real tech enthusiasts, what matters most is its performance and features. Steve Job might focus their market in Asia then since most people living in the continent are willing to upgrade their mobile phone every year.., regardless what kind of model it is..as long as it is called as an “upgrade”..they will just bear with it..lol..

LOL. I wouldn’t say that as a reason why it was being implemented at first.
Steve Jobs has been known as a dictator in his company. He prioritize design over technology. iPhone has touch screen which makes it a far much different from others kind of new phone nowadays.
Despite having less functions, the design is still nice and wonders why thousands people willing to line up to buy this USD$499 called iPhone.

Apple sells product defects as bonus features. For instance, they always talk about how secure their stuff is. Well its true, isnt it? When was the last time you heard of someone’s mac getting a virus? On that note, when was the last time you heard about an apple virus existing? If you are making a virus and you want to hurt the most people, you have a choice to make: attack the 98% using PC’s, or the 2% using crapintosh. What are you gonna choose? obviously pc. The moment an apple product becomes popular enough, it should start seeing major problems with security, as the iphone is. I recently experimented with my friends new iphone. Within a few hours i figured out how to hack into its remote assistance software and take control of the phone. A hacker could open a dedicated pay per minute phone number, take control of the phone, and connect to the number, there by forcing the owner of the phone to pay lots of cash to the hacker for the conversation time. There are so many other things wrong with this phone…. if people would just leave their impressions of windows machines from those “mac vs pc” commercials out, and just really try and use a pocket pc rather than just give up on the first problem, they would have a much better experience than you ever would with the iPhone.

Actually you can make any music on your computer your ringtone. There is a $10 program for it. But besides that I still don’t think the Iphone sucks. It’s the only phone with a touchscreen that doesn’t use a stylus for anything that also has a full HTML browser and WiFi. But besides that it doesn’t have a feature that another phone doesn’t have. But there are rumors that a 2nd Iphone is coming in September. Maybe it will be better than the first version.

All of the above point regarding the iPhone’s softfalls are valid. Not mentioned in most reviews though is it’s inability to sync with Outlook or use ‘push’ technology. I have a HTC Titan that is 3G runs and at speeds up to 3 meg. It is always online and constantly sync-ing with my office network via the mobile network. As soon as I update my email, contacts, calendar, tasks or notes in either my PC or Titan, the other device is updated about 1 second later. I never physically connect this device to my PC. I love this device because it’s actually useful. It doesn’t just look pretty…

I am a lead design engineer on the IPHONE 2.0 and would like to share some insight. I can now confirm the rumor that G.P.S will be a part of the new IPHONE. As with all Apple products we have taken it to the next level and you will not find G.P.S like this in any other device. The new IPHONE will feature thousands of microscopic legs like a centipede, so that it better position its self up your dumb ass. For those of you that don’t know already or have not had the pleasure of testing out a private demo G.P.S stands for Gerbil Positioning Device. I’m sure all of you HOMO’s will love the new IPHONE and its wonderful new G.P.S. CAUTION, always make sure the usb cable is attached when using G.P.S.
there is some more info on the new iphone v2 here

Once long time ago I was just as ignorant about the iPhone as people here, the price, contract and ATT, but after playing with one for about 30 min I realized that I was wrong. I got one and it was great, even with ATT. When month later I unlocked mine I realized that there is nothing that this thing can’t do. Its oblivious that most people on this post has ever used or seen one in person.
iPhone is the best peace of engineering created in past 10 years. Sooner you guys see this the sooner you’ll start enjoying 21st century and you’ll live your Nokia bricks behind.
Year later I’m still happy with mine and I’m thinking about buying a second gen.
Let’s see what kind of impact will iphone create on the mobile phone industry.

The Iphone is absolutely stunning… I cannot believe people keep comparing it to other phones in the market.. no mms, 2mp camera, u hear the same crap on every website… if i wanna send pictures i will email it from my iphone, or maybe i’ll send it via instant messaging like yahoo, aim, msn, or googletalk . I never ever used mms when i had it on my 5 previous phones mainly coz of the price of mms and the stupid pics on tiny screens… I’ve had so many must have phones in the past and this was another one… the difference is that this IS a must have… bcoz i work for a tech company, there are loads of ppl who have smart phones who try and compare their ‘cool’ phones to my new iphone and really all they realize is that they really shouldnt even be compared. For corporate use also i find this just great, push mail works like it should, vpn just fine, ssl certficate imort just great. But forget the features for a second, the interface is unlike anything… anything that I have ever used, absolutely amazing. Dont get me wrong, I still hate Apple as a company and their marketing and locking down of systems, I’ve always been and still am a windows boy, but when a good product comes… wake up and accept it…
P.S the camera… i’ve seen the pics the so called 5mp camera phones take, they are as shit as any other phone camera… its not about the megapixels ppl… not that i’m saying that the iphone cam is good, it isnt but isnt’ much worse than most camera phones…
