You Are 79% Addicted to the Internet

In your opinion, life without the internet is hardly worth living. Could be, but you probably need a bit more fresh air and sunshine to think clearly.

After knowing that I am 75% addicted to blogging, I did another quiz and found out that I am 79% addicted to the internet. If it is not school days, I would switch on the computer once I wake up and the last thing I do before going to bed will be on the internet too.

You like your online friends more than your real life friends
I do not like my online friends more than my real life friends. I do not have any close online friends though, only those I have keep in touch for business purpose. I used to be chatting with my online friends often last time, but have not keep in touch with them for quite some time as I seldom use my messenger nowadays.

The amount of time you spend online negatively effects your career or schoolwork
Very true I would say. Each day after school, I would have my lunch, bath and later take a nap. After the nap, I got to start working on the internet until the time I have to attend my extra class. After the class, I will be doing my school work and by the time I’m done, it will be late and I always got not enough sleep because of this. If I am not using the internet so much, I would be able to sleep earlier and pay more attention in class the next day.

When your internet is down or your computer is broken, it literally throws you into a panic
Again, very true. Being a Malaysian, we have no choice but to use the largest ISP in the nation as it offers the best plan with good prices — but yet the service provided are extremely bad. Once in a while there will be no connection and you will have a hard time dealing with their customer service. I feel so oh-my-god and will be praying every single time my internet is down as I can’t check my emails, read my feeds, blog and do some other activities I consider important. So far have not experience any computer failure, lets hope it will be the same forever.

You do most of your shopping online, including food and everyday items
False. There are not many local websites here that offers online shopping, especially food and everyday items. Buying from international websites will cost me a bomb for shipping cost etc. I rarely shop online, and most of the time I am shopping online are looking for gadgets. My current phone are bought online I consider, although it is being COD-ed.

Email or IM is the best way to get in touch with you
Yes for email and no for messenger. I have Gmail notifier extension installed on my Firefox browser and will be alerted everytime there is new mail. It is easier to keep in touch with me by emailing than IMing — as mentioned above, I rarely login to my messenger.

Your back hurts, you have dry eyes, or you have carpel tunnel from the amount of time you spend online
Definitely, sitting for long hours in front of the hell big CRT monitor makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. How cool it will be if I get myself a laptop and do my work lying on my bed with the air-cond on. Yes, we need one in Malaysia as the whether here is always hot – and my current workstation has only a fan.

You turn down invites to go out at night because you rather stay home and be online
First of all, I have not much invites. I would not turn down invites at all just because I want to stay online — but I would if I am too tired or lazy for it.

How addicted to the internet are you? I believe there are a lot of internet addicts, especially for the United States residents as they can do almost anything online. If I am not blogging, for sure I won’t be spending so much time online. But wait, I was gaming crazily online before I blog! Have not been playing any games online since I started blogging.
