Oldest Magazine & Newspaper

Oldest magazine
Found not much information about it. But according to members of Funtrivia, one of the oldest magazines ever published “Magazines of the world”.

The “magazines of the world” timeline began in March 1672 with the publication of the French intellectual journal Mercure Galant (later known as Mercure de France). Established in Paris by Jean Donneau de Vise.

Another member made sense by arguing from when the term ‘magazine’ is being used. There was also a magazine by the title Gentleman’s Magazine founded in London by Edward Cave in January, 1731. (refer Wikipedia)

Oldest newspaper
The Worcester Journal claims itself to be the oldest newspaper, established in 1690. Interesting information in their website. On the other hand, a 1749 original newspaper was scanned and posted online in as a PDF file. This is the first digital copy of the first real omnibus newspaper in the world.

Oldest Newspaper

I scanned the first newspaper in Northern Europe and published it on my blog. I have translated some of it from Gothic Danish to English. I found the newspaper after long research in a privately owned library. It has been kept there for more than 250 years. The newspaper is in very good condition since it was not printed on paper made from wood but from flax and cotton that can last for much longer time.

Anyone have more information about these stuff? I think those people who have these kind of information are too old to post the information up for the internet, or some may even have died.
