Just have an Internal Server Error few minutes ago, and glad to have it fixed in minutes. Just wondering if any other WordPress user have the same problem. As I know how annoying the error is and how bad the impact is to your blog (bad impression to readers), I’m posting how I get the error fixed here. Might not work for everyone, but just in case your case is the same as mine, it should work for you.
What I did:
- Login to my FTP account and go to /wp-content
- Rename wp-cache-config.php to anything else
- Site is back immediately instead of showing Internal Server Error
If there’s no wp-cache-config.php in your case, your problem might not be the same as mine. This cache thing has been creating much internal server error in the pass time, just that I’m not sure how to deal with it. But now, everything should be cool.

I think it’s only me or some others who have the almost same settings and plugins as mine. About the comment error, it’s due to a new comment plugin I’ve installed, but I’ve forgotten I’ve tweak a little to the comment form earlier on, so it caused problems.

Vincent, you’re my new hero! I would keep getting “500 Internal Service Error” messages from time to time when clicking through my blog. I recently installed the WP-Cache plugin so I knew it had something to do with that. Question: So do I really need the wp-cache-config.php file?

Yes, it will, but it isn’t important to me. I’d rather load longer than having internal server error.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but you mean you just disabled the plugin, right? And that’s the solution — get rid of it and turn it off?

Not just disabling the plugin, but also get rid of the file created by it. That’s in my case, and it works. But I saw a lot of good comments on wp-cache, so it might be just my problem.

I’m glad it’s not just me. I had the same problem. I didn’t delete the file, though, I went to the wp-cache Options page, deleted the cache files by pressing the “delete cache” button and then disabled the cache using the “disable” button on the same page. That stopped the Internal Server Errors for me. Shame, really, as it would be nice to have the cache.
